about mr marco
Born in Mexico but raised in the US, Marco Antonio Vazquez Ruiz has spent his entire academic life in the United States. At the age of 9, he discovered his passion for music when he began playing the cello. Just two years later, he started performing at various events, including weddings, birthday celebrations, and private gatherings, alongside his former instructor, Thomas Alvarado Verastegui. Marco Vazquez consistently earned a spot in the all-region orchestra throughout both his middle school and high school years while studying under his current instructor, Dr. Tido Janssen. He actively participated in both regional and state solo ensemble contests during high school and was a member of the UTRGV youth symphony. He is also an active member of Revival of Cultural Arts and has been a cello instructor since he was 13 years old. In addition to his love for music, Marco developed an interest in medicine, achieving certifications as an electrocardiogram technician and an emergency medical technician in high school. Currently a student at UTRGV, he is pursuing a double major in Biology and Music Performance, aspiring to become both an inspiring surgeon and musician in the future.
